John’s Piano Lesson Policies

My Lesson Policies:

Attendance

I totally get that life happens, and sometimes you might miss a lesson due to unforeseen circumstances. I’ll do my best to arrange a makeup lesson for unavoidable situations like sickness or emergencies. Just give me a heads-up at least 24 hours in advance if you know you can’t make it. If, for some reason, there isn’t much communication about missed lessons, makeup sessions aren’t guaranteed.

Please try to be on time! Unfortunately, I can’t extend lesson times for latecomers because my schedule is packed.

Practice/Performance:

Practice makes perfect! I recommend practicing at home for at least 5 days a week. Short, daily practice sessions work better than cramming everything into long sessions.

Requirements:

Make sure you have a piano or digital piano at home for practice. The quality of your instrument will impact your progress. I recommend tuning Acoustic pianos annually, and if you’re using a digital piano, my recommendation is a full-size keyboard (88-keys) with weighted, touch-sensitive keys and a sustain pedal. You’ll need to buy your own books and materials occasionally, but for the most part my materials are available online with free platforms such as youtube.

Billing:

You will be billed following each lesson. Please make the payment is received no later than 3 days following the lesson date. Payment can be made through Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle. Let’s keep things smooth by being responsible and timely about payments.

Termination:

If you need to stop lessons, I request a 30 days notice in advance. If you miss four consecutive lessons with no notice given, I will terminate our lessons. Unfortunately, if you decide to stop lessons at any point, any unused makeup sessions won’t be carried over. Thanks for understanding!
